Shout!
‘Why do we shout in anger?’ A saint asked his disciples, ‘Why do we shout in anger? Why do people shout at each other when they are upset?’
His disciples thought for a while, one of them said, ‘Because we lose our calm, we shout for that.’
‘But, why do you shout when the other person is just next to you?’ asked the saint. ‘Isn’t it possible to speak to him or her with a soft voice? Why do you shout at a person when you’re angry?’
Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the saint. Finally he explained, ‘When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other through that great distance.’
Then the saint asked, ‘What happens when two people fall in love? They don’t shout at each other but talk softly, why? Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is very small…’
The saint continued, ‘When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that’s all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.
‘MORAL’ said the saint: ‘When you argue do not let your hearts get distant, do not say words that distance each other more, else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return!’

Yeah why do many shout even if they are just a meter apart... jijijijiji... hayz... love na naman... mukhang bitter ako niyan ah...jijijijijiji
ReplyDeleteAs for me shouting is one of the best way to express our feeling especially we can't hear one another words. And it will release our emotional stress and depression. or we will end up crazy. The best part of it is that we have to come with our senses and be humble enough to talk humanly.
ReplyDeletethat is one of the attitude of the Saudi people. after the shouting everything is back to normal.
Other example are the children. They shout and then friends again.
Nice post bro!
ReplyDeleteGanun ba talaga 'yun? Kaya pala sometimes nakakawala ng amor..hehe
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info, Pope, next time pag mag-aaway kami sa text na lang..hehe
This Pravstalk is really enlightening, no? The louder you pray, the farther your heart is from God?
ReplyDeletePersonal observation: those prayers that we utter in silence (na minsan nga ay hindi pa inuusal ng bibig kundi puso lang ang umiimik), iba ang pakiramdam. Somehow it lifts your spirit up.
Tama po ba ako, The Pope?
You are all correct my friends I am Xprosaic, Lord CM & Jessie, some people shout to release their anger and as a defense mechanism; sometimes a spontaneous emotion;
ReplyDeleteWe should be able to learn humility and patience, this way we can control our anger, thank you Mr. Kenji for your thoughts.
Ruphael, thanks for dropping by and yes, teks teks na lang para walang sigawan hahaha,
and Nebz, you are perfectly correct, that is what God wants us to do, to seek Him in our hearts and pray in peace and silence.
ReplyDeleteAaaaghhh... Check mo nga Pope, me tama ako... I shout sa skype lalo na kung hindi marinig at the other end...bad signal... hahaha...
ReplyDeleteMy kids would often tell me, "don't shout dad!" and I would tell them I'm not shouting and I'm not angry...I'm just speaking with my normal voice..." Para kasing may microphone eh.
another inspiring post Pope! I like this life's lesson - ‘When you argue do not let your hearts get distant, do not say words that distance each other more, else there will come a day when the distance is so great that you will not find the path to return!’
ReplyDeletethanks for another inspiring entry.
