LINGGO NG PALASPAS

Jesus rides into Jerusalem as a King

And as he rode [into Jerusalem), they spread their garments on the road. As he was now drawing near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying,

"Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!
Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

(Luke 19:36-38)

And, a week later, walks to a humiliating Death

The last week of Jesus' life was crammed with events, as we follow him from his glorious entry into Jerusalem on Sunday until his death on Friday. In the days in between, he preached, taught, presided over the Passover supper, stood trial, and was condemned to death.

This week we call Holy Week.

  3. This is a blog post I am familiar with. It is sad that He has to do it, but its for us. He's done his part, now, it our turn to do our part. Thank you for the post, The Pope. Its truly a week of reflection.

  4. Holy Week na pala talaga, there's no holy week here even in the US. I remember every holy week mainit na rin sa Pilipinas at malungkot ang bahay walang mapanood hehehe.

  5. Holy Week is a 7 days spiritual journey for all of us to prepare our body and soul through prayers, meditations and acceptable penance so that that we may become worthy of God's blessings on His glorious Resurrection.

Thank you my friends Ron Centeno, Lord CM, Mr. Thoughtskoto and Sardonyx for being with me this Holy Week and advance Happy Easter to all of you.

  7. Nakaka-miss ang holy week sa Pinas. I missed the Palaspas..Sobrang ganda ng palaspas sa Pinas..Di tulad dito sa Dubai..Walang desinyo..Tsaka dahon ng dates ang ginagamit dito..Pero anu paman 'yon, ang importante naramdaman natin ang kahalagahan nito.

    Nice post, Pope.

    Keep it up!
